Life Update

Posted on 08 August 2007

So with so much going in in my life, I decided that I needed to take a moment and set out a solid plan for the next few months. Many of you know I’m sort of a jack-of-all-trades. So this update is going to be a bit random, but if you’re at all ADD like me, then it will be a breeze to follow.

My Ministry - For the past year I’ve been working with Oakseed Ministries International. Through out work and partnership with nationals working in the mega-cities of the third-world we are touching the lives of over 300,000 homeless street kids in the worst parts of the globe.

Part of my goal this past year has been to update the communication systems and the websites for the organization. Feel free to check out Oakseed.org and KalpanaCards to get a quick sample of some of the new sites.

Last April, I got the opportunity to spend some weeks in India visiting several of our ministry partners and saw in a real powerful way the support that we in the west can bring to these ministry partners who are working on the front lines with these kids and outcasts of society. So now my biggest challenge is that I need to raise some support. I need to raise some prayer support and my financial support.

Over the next week, I’ll be presenting opportunities for many of you to join me through different ways. Several specific things I’ll share more about in the coming days:

* I need to find 4 churches who will support me at $500/month.
* I need to find 25 individuals or families to support me at $50/month
* I need to find 30 individuals/groups/families to give a one time (or yearly) gift of $200.
* I need to find 100 individuals or families who would like to receive my prayer/update letters.

But more about all this later in the week.

My Music - I have been writing a lot of music and collaborating with some other musicians around the globe. I think its finally time I settled down and recorded again. It’s been nearly 10 years since I last went into the studio.

My Family - Cara and I are enjoying living in the DC area (We came to this area because of my work.) She has since found an amazing job teaching in a wonderful situation with lots of flexibility. We got a dog from a rescue a few months ago, and while it has been a hassle with his constant peeing, Pugsley has become part of the family.

Update continued in a bit…
