Wow, I’ve never realized so many Google products have been put to death. Thinking about all this, it seems like Google can’t be considered a reliable internet-tools provider what most people think!

I’m a big user of iGoogle (mostly because that’s how I preferred to read my RSS feeds) and I’m frustrated with them as well. I’ve been skeptical about how long the party was going to last for a while. Even though they are very profitable because of their ad system, I figured that anything they weren’t able to properly monetize was eventually going to disappear.

With the mass adoption of android phones most of the major cell carriers don’t even give their users email addresses anymore since they need a google account to activate most of the features on Android… I give it a few years and predict that google will put huge restrictions on free gmail forcing most folks to buy some sort of premium service fee in order to have full functionality.

Lots of paid upgrades being pushed in their Analytics program as well as Webmaster tools, I think the free versions will be scaled back on those as well.

They are, after all, in business to make money.

This would be a really useful feature for one of the sites I am building. We will have different users creating the posts and the search display will show the featured image thumbnail using LoopBuddy. I anticipate they will forget to select a featured image. However, for some reason this is not working for me on a 3.5.1 installation. I pasted it into the functions.php of the child theme. Is it possibly because the images in the content area are in a gallery? It is a standard wordpress gallery, so I would have thought the images would be associated with the post.

It’s obvious that Amazon has come to the conclusion that you are their competitor, offering a lower price than them, and you must be crushed (even though they get a cut of your action).

Once all the resellers are gone, they can sell their new ones at full price again.

Or maybe they are trying to get you to look at eBay again.

I get the significance of the post as well as the facetiousness, but why provide “the bad guys” with a step by step process to continue this trend?

I also find it very disheartening that such a large company is not trying to support it’s good guys. It will make me think twice about who I conduct business with.

Make sure you have backups. And the easiest method is to use BackupBuddy and set it to back your site up at regular intervals.
